How we use AI
We want to be upfront about this: the artwork on your Kept & Co. product is created with the help of AI.
Here's exactly what happens. You upload a photo of your pet. We use an AI image-generation tool (provided by OpenAI) to turn that photo into a stylised piece of artwork, in the style you've chosen. You see the result before anything is printed, and nothing goes to production until you approve it. If you don't like it, you can ask for changes or try a different style. Any name, dates or message you add is set by our own typesetting, not generated by AI, so spelling always matches exactly what you typed.
In other words: the AI does the first draft, based entirely on the photo you gave us — but you're always the one who decides what actually gets made.
Why we're telling you this
From August 2026, EU law (the AI Act, Article 50) asks businesses that use AI to generate images to be clear with customers about it. We think that's good practice anyway, especially for something as personal as a portrait of a pet you love. This notice, plus the confirmation step where you approve your artwork before we print it, is how we meet that.
What this doesn't mean
This isn't a real photograph of your pet — it's a stylised piece of artwork generated from your photo. We don't use AI to make decisions about you, your order, or anything beyond generating the artwork itself from the image you provide.
